Bull Riding

Riding A bull?? Sounds a little weird but it happens and the guys that have the real courage do it. lets have a look on it that how it really works and which parts of the world have that traditional sport. So, Bull riding is not about simply riding a bull its about riding a bull with a name and identity that is assigned to him as per his aggressiveness its a Rodeo Sport that is performed by keeping your position at top of the Bucking Bull and keep mounted for as long as one can while animal keeps bucking off. In american traditions it is expected that a rider should stay at the top for atleast 8 seconds to show his strength and technique.

So, The “Eight Most Dangerous Seconds in Sports”, point towards these eight seconds on bull while riding it: grip of one hand with a braided rope to get yourself balanced needs a lot of practice. Other than USA the Bull Riding Traditions are also observed in other parts of the world like  Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina), Australia (New Zealand, Australia) and canada but with different rules and regulations.

Talking about the bulls to be used in the game are really selected ones on the tough criteria that includes Bull’s Health, agility, age and Strength. Randomly the riders and bulls are matched before the commencement of the competition, due to this no one of the rider hardly knows what he would be getting to ride on for 8 seconds. some times as in PBR events some ranked riders are given option to choose their own “Eight Second Ride”. So, as the rider rides on the Bull in the Bucking Chute ( a small place with an opening) and after he secure his grip with the braided rope he signals that he is ready and the door is opened and the Bull thunders in to the arena. Now, the Rider must try to remain on Bull with only touching bull with the riding hand. Now, rider is supposed to be at top for eight second and the other hand must be free in air.

The Bull do whatever he can to throw the the rider away , and the rider tries his level best to spend eight seconds on the bull, after the completion of the eight seconds a loud Buzzer announces telling the rider that he is home, Rodeo Clown or bull fighters during the ride; stay in the arena to be of possible help and to kep the bull away from the rider when he gets off the bull.

The competitions have a format that consist of different rounds, sometimes called go rounds. mostly we have event spanning is 2-3 nights.  The rider is given a chance to ride one bull per night. by the end of the event the total scores are counted. After the first or first  02  go rounds, the 20 top riders are allowed to ride for one more time in the “Short-Go” round and at the end of this round the points scored are counted and the one with the top most score wins the event’s Cup.
